Vikings of Asgard Chapter 13 Becoming Barons
Don and Bob end their last time setting foot on any Earth but Asgard
At the city gate, a spear toting guard stopped them from leaving. The guard reached for the bag Jason carried. Jason stepped back and pulled his gun. It didn’t look like that guard understood what the gun was, and he stepped toward Jason.
The man carrying the knapsack barked a word in the local language and held out a single gold coin to the guard. That did the trick. Taking the coin, the guard waved them through.
Was it taxes, or the customary bribe? He didn’t know. Did it matter? Probably not.
The market outside the gate was no longer empty. It was, in fact, crowded. Had they taken that long inside? Had everyone been waiting for that prince to leave?
“Make way, people,” Jimmy called out as he led the way through the press. His words had no effect on the crowd. The two slaves Jimmy had just bought, getting in front of him and clearing a path, did. The rest of the slaves pressed close, not risking becoming separated.
He needed some things, and the sight of a rug reminded him of that.
At the Gorgon, he found Bob sitting in the open back door watching the topless girl sell. Did he realize he was advertising her for sale?
