The darkened buildings of the city streets echoed the police siren sent a shiver down Don’s spine.
The five faces staring at him wide-eyed made controlling his own fear rough.
The cops hunted him and every man here.
His throat tight, he swallowed.
The siren faded.
He released his breath. Too damn many close calls in the two weeks that they had been back.
He forced his tight muscles to relax.
