Stomach tied in knots, Don announced to his two passengers standing in the cargo bay, “Three minutes.”

Damn his little brother and his mouth. Half the twenty-four cousins, most with families that Rachel recruited, had backed out over the past few days because of him. Because of that mouth, those still coming would only come if Tim came too. If he was lying, they wanted him in easy reach. That gave Tim no choice, even though he had things there he would rather do.

At least the dozen wanted gang members from Chicago his sister had offered to get out of the country stood next to the cousins. Carlos needed skilled muscle badly and would get first chance to interview and recruit them as soon as Don got them here.

He touched the key for the speaker again. “One minute. Get everyone in fast. I have a tight schedule.”

The scanners showed Rachel and her entire staff in the warehouse, waiting. That was too many in the know, as far as Don was concerned. She was supposed to have the staff at minimum when he came.

“We know,” Kim replied. “That is why it is us two. Samson, to intimidate everyone into moving fast, and me, someone your sister will listen to when I say we have to hurry and can’t gossip.”

“You’re worse than Rachel when it comes to gossip.”

“That is why I’m so effective in knowing who is up to what on Asgard.”
